Daniel R. Harper

Daniel R. Harper is a 1986 graduate of UCLA, with a bachelor's degree in world literature. He earned a teaching credential in English from California State University Polytechnic in Pomona in 1988. He has a master's degree in English from Brigham Young University. He taught high school English from 1991-2000. Mr. Harper received his law degree from J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 2003. During law school, he clerked for the Utah Attorney General Criminal Division, was a judicial extern for Judge Steven L. Hansen, and was the secretary and criminal section chair of BYU Law School's Government and Politics Legal Society. Mr. Harper was the recipient of BYU Law School Scholarly Writing Award in 2003.

Mr. Harper concentrates his civil litigation practice in the areas of medical malpractice and education law. He also has experience in the areas of workers compensation, employment law, premises liability, insurance subrogation, and asbestos defense.

Mr. Harper has been involved in several appeals before both the Utah Supreme Court and Utah Court of Appeals. He has also been certified to act as a panel chair for Utah Healthcare Malpractice Act prelitigation panel hearings by the Utah Division of Occupational & Professional Licensing. Mr. Harper is an active member of the Utah chapter of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management.
